In January, 2007, the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation awarded the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia a two-year grant totalling $40,000. This generous and substantial gift will underwrite the new Family Learning class at Herndon Fortnightly Library in partnership with Fairfax County public libraries. We will name the class the Claude Moore Family Learning Class.
Support such as this allows the Literacy Council to focus even more of its time on improving its programs and extending its reach to those who need literacy education the most. A very big thank you to the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation.
