Thanks to generous funding by AmeriCorps, LCNV is able to partner with Loudoun Literacy Council (LLC) and BEACON for Adult Literacy in Prince William County to supervise seven AmeriCorps members as they deliver language and literacy instruction to adults in a 950-square-mile service area. The AmeriCorps members serving LCNV, LLC, and Beacon have received opportunities to supervise both volunteers and colleagues while cultivating dedicated areas of expertise such as volunteer recruitment, volunteer management, ESOL curriculum development and community outreach.
"The Office on Volunteerism and Community Service funds and administers twenty four AmeriCorps programs across the State of Virginia, including the ESOL and Family Learning Programs of the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia. These Virginia AmeriCorps programs provide a wide array of services meeting critical needs in communities large and small throughout the Commonwealth."
