The United Way of the National Capital Area's Community Impact grant has been vital in helping the Literacy Council secure books and other materials for its Basic Literacy and ESOL tutoring programs. In addition, the United Way enables LCNV to reach thousands of local employees through the Combined Federal Campaign and the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign.
* United Way of the National Capital Area coordinates one of the largest annual fundraising campaigns in the country. The campaign disperses millions in funds to almost 900 nonprofit partners—certified by United Way NCA—that provide health and human service programs to Washington area residents. The campaign also includes nine Community Impact Funds, which work to solve complex social issues by directing funds to the most critical areas of need.
