Do You Live or Do Business in Virginia and Want a Break on Your State Taxes?
LCNV has a new way to thank donors like you! The organization applied and has been approved to be part of the Neighborhood Assistance Program, which provides a 40 percent Virginia State income tax credit to individuals and businesses who contribute directly to approved, nonprofit organizations, which provide programs that benefit people with incomes at or below 150 percent of the poverty level. There are only 200 organizations in the entire state, and only about 20 in Northern Virginia, who are part of this program, and LCNV is proud to have been selected as one of them!
Individuals or married couples who donate a minimum of $500 to LCNV in the form of cash or marketable securities (maximum of $50,000) during the tax year will receive a 40 percent tax credit on their Virginia State Taxes. Businesses that donate a minimum of $1,000 to LCNV in cash, stock, merchandise or real estate (maximum of $437,500) during the tax year will also receive a 40 percent tax credit on their Virginia State Taxes.
Currently, donations must be made by mailing a check payable to "Literacy Council of Northern Virginia" and this form to 2855 Annandale Rd, Falls Church, VA 22042.
