English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Learning Centers are located throughout Northern Virginia. They offer beginning-level ESOL classes in three sessions per year (fall, winter, and spring). The classes help students improve their English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. They also provide information about American culture and life skills important to the workplace, community, and family. Select learning centers sites have computers with educational software, so students can learn about technology and practice the English skills covered in class.
In addition, some centers offer other types of learning opportunities, such as conversation classes. The conversation classes are free and provide an opportunity for students to practice their English speaking and listening skills. Click here for a schedule: www.lcnv.org/schedules.cfm.
