The Literacy Council offers a number of services in addition to its four main learning programs.
Community Outreach
Some Council volunteers participate in community outreach projects such as tutoring in jails, homeless shelters, senior centers, and in the workplace.
Learning Disabilities Service
Our reading specialist screens students for learning disabilities and then works with their tutors to develop a curriculum suited to each student's individual learning style.
Vision Referral Project
Through Lens Crafters' Gift of Sight program, qualifying Literacy Council students are eligible for free optometry services.
