English for All
An interactive site which provides video episodes on subjects ranging from job advancement to accessing learning opportunities. Viewing the videos online requires some free plug-ins and a fast Internet connection. Students can do many of the activities without seeing the videos, including listening to single words for discrimination of sounds, learning vocabulary, participating in grammar activities and learning life skills. Too difficult for very beginning ESOL students.
5 Minute English
Contains short self-study lessons in various English language skills. Some lessons include pronunciation exercises and other oral work. Useful for ESOL students who have at least reached the high beginning level of English.
The Internet Picture Dictionary
An online picture dictionary which includes flashcards and a variety of interactive activities (e.g., word scrabble, fill in the missing letters, matching words with pictures.)

Learning Resources
Web-based instruction using current and past CNN and CBS news stories on topics of interest to adults. Each module includes the story's text and on-line interactive activities to test comprehension. The learner can choose to read the text, listen to the text, and/or watch a video clip. The stories are too difficult for literacy-level learners.
